About Author:

Allama Muhammad Asad (born Leopold Weiss; 1900–1992) was a prestigious Jewish-born Austro-Hungarian journalist, traveler, diplomat, and Islamic scholar who became one of the 20th century's most influential European converts to Islam. After embracing Islam in 1926, he traveled extensively across the Muslim world, living in Saudi Arabia for nearly six years as a close advisor to King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud. He later moved to British India, closely collaborating with the spiritual father of Pakistan, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, and actively supported the Pakistan Movement. Following Pakistan's independence in 1947, Asad was appointed the Director of the Department of Islamic Reconstruction and later served as Pakistan's Minister Plenipotentiary to the United Nations in New York. A brilliant intellectual, he dedicated his life to bridging the gap between Western thought and the Islamic world. He is globally celebrated for his masterful English translation and commentary of the Quran, *The Message of the Qur'an*, which is highly regarded for its intellectual depth and emphasis on the rational spirit of Islam. His acclaimed autobiography, *The Road to Mecca*, remains a classic narrative of spiritual discovery and cultural bridge-building.
