Hakeem Faiz Alam Siddiqui

Hakeem Faiz Alam Siddiqui (1918–1983) was a prominent and highly vocal Pakistani Sunni historian, religious researcher, polemicist, and author known for his unapologetic and strictly critical defense of classical Islamic figures. Born in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, British India, he later migrated to Pakistan following the partition of 1947, operating extensively as an independent researcher. He is best known for his rigorous historical treatises aimed at countering narrative biases within mainstream historiography, specifically addressing early Islamic schisms and political leadership. Over his prolific career, Siddiqui authored dozens of highly debated Urdu books, including Haqeeqat-e-Mazhab-e-Shia ("The Reality of the Shia Creed"), Khilafat-e-Rashidah, Siddiqa-e-Kainat, and detailed historical biographies on early caliphs like Amir Marwan Ibn al-Hakam and Sayyidna Hasan Ibn Ali. Because his works systematically challenged heterodox interpretations and aggressively defended the companions of the Prophet against traditional critiques, his literature remains central to sectarian and historical discourse in Pakistan. He was assassinated in September 1983 due to his controversial writings.

حکیم فیض عالم صدیقی (1918ء–1983ء) ایک ممتاز اور بے باک پاکستانی سنی مؤرخ، مذہبی محقق، مناظر اور مصنف تھے، جو اسلامی تاریخ کی مروجہ روایات کے سخت اور تنقیدی مطالعے کی وجہ سے جانے جاتے ہیں۔ وہ برطانوی ہند کے خطے راجوری (جموں و کشمیر) میں پیدا ہوئے اور 1947ء میں تقسیمِ ہند کے بعد پاکستان ہجرت کر کے مستقل سکونت اختیار کی۔ وہ بنیادی طور پر ابتدائی اسلامی دور کے سیاسی تغیرات، خلافت اور صحابہ کرام کے دفاع میں اپنے اچھوتے اور سخت تاریخی دلائل کے لیے مشہور ہیں۔ اپنے طویل علمی سفر کے دوران انہوں نے درجنوں بحث انگیز کتب تصنیف کیں، جن میں "حقیقتِ مذہبِ شیعہ"، "خلافتِ راشدہ"، "صدیقۂ کائنات" اور مروان بن الحکم کی زندگی پر مبنی "امیر المؤمنین سیدنا حضرت امیر مروان ابن الحکم" اور "سیدنا حسن ابن علی" شامل ہیں۔ چونکہ ان کی تحریریں روایتی شیعہ و سنی تاریخی تنازعات کو براہِ راست چیلنج کرتی تھیں اور صحابہ کے دفاع میں انتہائی سخت موقف رکھتی تھیں، اس لیے ان کا علمی کام آج بھی پاکستان کے مذہبی و فرقہ وارانہ مباحث میں گہرا اثر رکھتا ہے؛ وہ ستمبر 1983ء میں اپنے فکری و مذہبی کام کی وجہ سے قاتلانہ حملے میں جاں بحق ہو گئے۔
