Amin Ahsan Islahi

Amin Ahsan Islahi (1904–1997) was a monumental Pakistani Islamic theologian, scholar, and journalist celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to Quranic exegesis. Born in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, British India, he graduated from Madrasat-ul-Islah, where he eventually became a disciple of Imam Hamiduddin Farahi. Islahi adopted and systematically applied Farahi’s revolutionary structural theory of Nazm, which argues that the Holy Quran possesses an intrinsic thematic and structural coherence. He was a co-founder of Jamaat-e-Islami alongside Abul A'la Maududi in 1941, but resigned in 1958 due to deep methodological and leadership differences. He spent decades authoring his nine-volume magnum opus commentary, Tadabbur-i-Quran ("Pondering on the Quran"), which remains an extraordinary reference work praised for its linguistic precision and logical hermeneutics. Islahi passed away in Lahore, leaving behind an institutional school of thought that profoundly shaped modern rationalist and text-centric Quranic dynamics in Pakistan.

امین احسن اصلاحی

مولانا امین احسن اصلاحی (1904ء–1997ء) ایک عظیم اور مایہ ناز پاکستانی اسلامی ماہرِ الہیات، اسکالر اور صحافی تھے، جو فہمِ قرآن اور تفسیر نگاری کے میدان میں اپنی انقلابی خدمات کی وجہ سے مانے جاتے ہیں。 وہ برطانوی ہند میں اتر پردیش کے ضلع اعظم گڑھ میں پیدا ہوئے اور انہوں نے مدرسۃ الاصلاح سے گریجویشن کیا， جہاں آگے چل کر وہ امام حمید الدین فراہی کے مخلص اور خاص شاگرد بنے。 اصلاحی نے فراہی کے پیش کردہ "نظمِ قرآن" کے انقلابی نظریے کو اپنایا اور اسے باقاعدہ لاگو کیا، جس کا موقف ہے کہ قرآن مجید کے اندر ایک گہرا موضوعاتی اور ساختی ربط پایا جاتا ہے。 وہ 1941ء میں ابوالاعلیٰ مودودی کے ہمراہ جماعتِ اسلامی کے بانی ارکان میں شامل تھے， لیکن تنظیمی و فکری اختلافات کے باعث 1958ء میں علیحدگی اختیار کر لی。 انہوں نے اپنی زندگی کی کئی دہائیاں اپنی معرکہ آرا نو جلدوں پر مشتمل تفسیر "تدبرِ قرآن" لکھنے میں صرف کیں， جو اپنی لسانی فصاحت اور منطقی استدلال کی بنا پر اردو تفسیری ادب کا ایک لازوال شاہکار مانی جاتی ہے。 وہ لاہور میں وفات پا گئے， لیکن اپنے پیچھے "مکتبِ فراہی" کا وہ علمی ورثہ چھوڑ گئے جس نے پاکستان میں جدید عقلی فہمِ قرآن کو گہرا متاثر کیا。
