Masood Uddin Usmani (commonly known as Ex-Captain Dr. Masood Uddin Usmani) was a prominent Pakistani medical doctor, Islamic scholar, researcher, and religious orator. Originally from Lucknow, India, where he earned his MBBS degree, he later migrated to Pakistan and settled in Karachi. Combining his scientific background with religious scholarship, he achieved the status of *Fazil Uloom-e-Diniyah* from Wifaqul Madaris, Multan. Dr. Usmani became a highly distinctive and polarizing figure in contemporary South Asian religious discourse due to his strictly rationalist and literalist approach to Islamic monotheism (*Tawheed*). He founded a distinct theological school of thought focused on purging what he viewed as widespread polytheistic innovations (*Shirk*) and sectarianism (*Firqa Parasti*). He authored dozens of influential Urdu booklets and gave recorded lectures focusing on pure faith. His most notable published treatises include *Eman-e-Khalis*, *Falah Ka Rasta*, *Waseelay Ka Shirk*, *Deendari Ya Dukandari*, and *Allah Ka Ghar Aur Yeh Dargahain*. His highly unconventional perspectives on the nature of life in the grave (*Barzakh*) and his fierce critique of conventional historical traditions frequently placed him at the center of intense theological refutations from mainstream Sunni denominations.
