Dr. Shabbir Ahmed, MD (born August 14, 1947) is a prominent Pakistani-American medical doctor, Islamic scholar, historian, and prolific author widely recognized within the modern non-sectarian and Quran-centric (Ahl-e-Quran) movement. Born in Pakistan on its independence day, he pursued his medical education at Liaquat Medical College (LMC), Jamshoro, Sindh. Dr. Ahmed served as a medical officer in the Pakistan Army and later in the Royal Saudi Army Medical Corps during the 1970s, where he was a member of the royal medical staff under King Faisal and King Khalid. During his tenure in Saudi Arabia, he studied classical Quraish Arabic under official royal auspices to deepen his textual understanding of the Quran. In 1979, he relocated to the United States and established a long-standing family medicine practice in Florida.
