Abdul Majid Daryabadi Seerat Nabvi SAW Qurani

Maulana Abdul Majid Daryabadi (1892–1977) was a distinguished 20th-century Indian Islamic scholar, philosopher, journalist, and exegete whose intellectual journey represented a remarkable evolution from absolute skepticism back to orthodox Islamic scholarship. Born in Daryabad, Barabanki district, British India, he graduated in philosophy from Canning College, Lucknow, and was initially heavily influenced by Western rationalism and atheism. Following a profound spiritual transformation in his late twenties, he returned to traditional Islam and became a close associate of Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi and Mahatma Gandhi. Daryabadi is globally celebrated for his magisterial, simultaneous Urdu and English commentaries on the Quran, known as the Tafsir-e-Majidi, which uniquely utilized modern psychology, philosophy, and biblical comparative studies to validate traditional Quranic claims. A prolific writer and editor of the highly influential journals Sach and Sidq, he authored over fifty books spanning Islamic ethics, biography, and philosophy, cementing his legacy as one of South Asia's most sophisticated traditionalist intellectuals.
