The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain is an 1876 novel about a young boy growing up along the Mississippi River. It is set in the 1840s in the fictional town of St. Petersburg, inspired by Hannibal, Missouri, where Twain lived as a boy."The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" has stood the test of time because Twain's perceptive and humorous portrayal of young boys is so perfect and so universal.Mark Twain really shows us how life was back then. Tom sawyer is one of the best books that i have read. He is a troublesome kid, him an Huck and they never listen. I highly recommend this for young teens. Mark Twain shows us the lives of kids back then. Especially uneducated children. This is a fun, entertaining book. It is fun, yes but tom sawyer is a serious novel and does express some subjects and mature words. But it is one of the best books written and one of the bast by Mark Twain.
