Surat al-Jumu`ah (Arabic: "Friday") is the 62nd surah of the Quran with 11 verses. The chapter is named al-jumu`ah ("Friday") because it is the day of assembly, when the community abandons trade, transactions and other diversions in favor of assembling to seek the all-encompassing truth and most beneficent and seek the "bounty of God" exclusively (Verse 9). This surah is an Al-Musabbihat surah because it begins with the glorification of Allah. Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth glorifies Allah the Sovereign, the Most Holy, theEsteemed One, the Wise. It is He Who sent among the unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves, who recites to them Hissigns and purifies them and bestows them the knowledge of the Book and wisdom, although they had been necessarily in manifest error before that. --- Updated: 2018-08-18
